National Motto

      The National Motto project is dedicated to getting our national motto changed from "In God We Trust," a motto which divides and polarizes the country along religious lines, to "United We Stand," a motto which we can all subscribe to.

      During February, 2002, I met with Congressman Mark Kirk and the Chiefs of Staff of Senators Richard Durbin and Peter Fitzgerald to seek their support for changing the national motto.  While none of these legislators are inclined at this time to sponsor such legislation, that could change if a national groundswell of support were to be demonstrated.

      Rob Sherman Advocacy is engaged in a campaign to generate and demonstrate such support.  Stay tuned...
