Hooters Girls Car Wash Team rewards Rob for
big victory over Martin-Trigona in SLAPP suit
The Hooters Girls Car Wash Team of Bloomington, Illinois, rewarded me on Friday for a job well done in defeating Anthony Robert Martin-Trigona's SLAPP suit. The girls provided me with the most memorable car wash of my life.
I had left the house at around 4:00 a.m. for the 8:45 a.m. court hearing on Friday at Sangamon County Circuit Court in Springfield. The court hearing lasted until about 9:30 a.m. After that, I began the 210-mile drive back to the office in Buffalo Grove.
As I passed through the Bloomington area, I realized that this would be a good time to stop for lunch at the Bloomington Hooters. Bloomington is located about one-third of the way from Springfield back to Buffalo Grove.

Kathy brought me lunch. I had the grilled chicken garden salad and lemonade. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse cake.
While I was eating -- and enjoying the view, of course -- a member of the Hooters Girls Car Wash Team stopped by my table to ask what had brought me to town. I told her about my big victory in Springfield. The team member was so impressed, she offered to have the Hooters Girls Car Wash Team wash my car for free, as a reward for my accomplishment. I thanked her for her kind offer and said, "Yes."

Here, the Hooters Girls Car Wash Team of Alysha, Blair and Melissa greet me by my orange 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP convertible. Which girl is which? Does it really matter? All three are ISU students (Illinois State University at Bloomington) and work as Hooters Girls (waitresses or servers) in the restaurant.

The Hooters Girls Car Wash Team left my car spotless and left me breathless. Have you ever gotten your car washed with the top down? They were really careful not to get me wet, um, with water from their bucket or hose.

That was fun! The girls wave goodbye as I begin my long drive back to Buffalo Grove. Even though the car wash was free, I still made a ten dollar contribution to their college tuition scholarship fund.
Sometimes, the reward for fighting injustice, one victory at a time, is unexpected. All that Anthony Robert Martin-Trigona got for his troubles was rejection by a circuit court judge. I, on the other hand, came away with memories to last a lifetime.
