Why the Republicans won, yesterday

Many people are wondering, "What happened?  Why did Republican candidates for governor in Virginia and New Jersey win their election contests, yesterday?"

The answer can be had in just two words:  Barack Obama.

That's right, our beloved, esteem President Barack Obama is the reason that America went Republican on us, yesterday.

Why?

When we, as a country, voted one year ago, this week, for Change, the change that we were looking for was fiscal restraint.  Fiscal responsibility.

The previous President, George W. Bush, known to his detractors as "Duh-bya," engaged in a reckless, out-of-control spending spree in which he spent 250 to 400 billion dollars, each year, more than the federal government was taking in.  Duh-bya paid for this folly by sticking it to future generations to pay for the cost.

America responded, loudly and clearly, that we wanted Change in the form of a reduction in deficit spending.  We wanted the budget balanced promptly.

So, what did Barack do?  Instead of slashing deficit spending, he responded by increasing deficit spending to something like two trillion dollars per year.  This is fiscal insanity that is unsustainable.  Barack's policies are going to result in fiscal catastrophe.

America clearly rejects the core principles of the Republican Party, principles such as discrimination against minorities, raping the environment for corporate profit and using government as a weapon to cram God down everybody's throat.

However, America is unwilling to allow this country to be destroyed, financially, by insane deficit-spending-on-steroids, so the Republicans won, this time.

The Democratic Party better get spending under control, and do it, fast, or you are going to see a surge in the return of Republicans to power.  If there's anything that's going to screw up our country worse than Democratic borrow-and-spend, it would be a return to the corrupt values of the Republican Party, along with continued borrow-and-spend.

There are alternatives, such as the Green Party, but that doesn't seem viable, just yet, on a wide scale basis.  However, keep borrowing and spending, Democrats and Republicans, and maybe the Green Party will begin to rise.
