Commuter Train Disaster Drill
in September
We Need Seat Belts will Be There
The nation's largest ever commuter train disaster drill will be held on
Saturday, September 15th, in the Chicago area. 1,100 people will participate
in the event. 500 volunteers will serve as victims, including 100
with serious injuries. 40 fire departments, 30 police departments,
the Federal Railroad
Administration and the National
Transportation Safety Board will all be there.
We Need Seat Belts has made
arrangements with local officials for a very visible location at the mock
disaster from which We Need Seat Belts will conduct informational picketing. WNSB
will communicate to interested reporters and officials that most, if not all,
of the mock injuries would never have occurred if only the passengers had been
wearing 3-point seat belts.
We Need Seat Belts wants you to join them at this event. This is an
unprecedented opportunity for We Need Seat Belts to get literally ten million
dollars of publicity about this issue for free. Bring as many
additional supporters as you can. Appropriate signs with a consistent
message will be provided to you. All you have to do is RSVP and show
up.
This can be the definitive event to turn the tide in favor of getting 3-point
seat belts on trains and busses. You can be a part of history and a part
of saving countless lives and preventing thousands of unnecessary injuries by
showing up to demonstrate your support for 3-point seat belts on trains and
busses.
The location of the event will be the Wisconsin Central Railroad tracks in
Wheeling, Illinois -- virtually walking distance from the office of Liberal
News and Commentary and the office of We Need Seat Belts. The date is
Saturday, September 15, beginning at 7:30 AM and going into the early
afternoon.
If you are willing to spend just one morning out of your life to save the
lives of hundreds and to prevent unnecessary injury to thousands, please get
in touch with We Need Seat Belts by using any of the contact methods provided
on the We Need Seat Belts home
page, or use the contact information below. Thank you.
