Dumbing Down of America Is Complete

When I went to school in the '50s and '60s, excellence was the primary goal.  Nowadays, mediocrity is the goal.

The reason that mediocrity is so important to today's leaders is that fewer people get left behind.  Fewer get ahead, but fewer get left behind.  By aiming for the bland middle, fewer people feel bad about ending up so far behind the high achievers.

America's obsession with mediocrity is complete with the replacement of the elected president, Al Gore, with the selected president, George Duh-bya.

Just look at the guy.  He exudes mediocrity.  When he walks into a room or makes a speech before a microphone, he hardly looks presidential.  He looks much more like a high school sophomore who is in his first school play or first acting class, trying his best to take on the role of playing a real President.  No, make that, freshman, he looks so out of place.  When he gives a speech, it is obvious that he is reading a speech that was written for him, like a high school student reading a script that was written for a real President, but which Duh-bya has tried to memorize, anyway.  When he walks into a room, he puts on the serious look, but you can tell that it's all just a pathetic, awkward act.

A mainstream press headline, yesterday, read:  "Cheney:  Bush is in Charge."  Such a story would never have been written if the assertion were true.  There certainly has never been a story like, before, for as long as I can remember.

There are a lot of competent people associated with the new administration.  The one weak link is the man at the top.

Even people like Ashcroft and Norton are competent, even though their policies are to destroy the effectiveness of the departments that they have been nominated to lead.  If confirmed, they surely will do an outstanding job of undermining the missions that they are supposed to be supporting.

There is a reason why Republicans on the Supreme Court deposed the elected government of Al Gore and replaced him with Duh-bya.  A lot of people agreed to pay a lot of money to buy this election on the premise that their big-bucks contributions would eventually cost them nothing at all.  Once elected, Duh-bya would arrange for a huge tax cut for the wealthy.  The money saved by the wealthy in the tax cuts would cover the money spent on buying the election.  However, if Al Gore was allowed to take over the office which Gore actually was elected to, all that Republican money would have been flushed down the toilet.  The Republicans on the Supreme Court simply were not going to allow that to happen, so the coup take place and Duh-bya was selected.

If I was in the military, I would resign, right now, as a vote of no-confidence in the legitimacy of the Commander-in-Chief.  There is talk about how Jesse Jackson's youngest child is illegitimate.  However, if you want to talk about real illegitimacy, that's the presidency of George Duh-bya.  If you are in the military, this guy is just too dumb and too illegitimate to be trusted with your life.

So, for the next four years, we will have to function without a President.  Rather than having a real president, there is a vacuum at the top, with just be an imposter pretending to be President.  The next presidential primary season begins in just 23 months, with the primary elections just 37 months away.

Bill Clinton was the 42nd elected President.  The next President, who takes office just 47 months and 4 weeks from now, will be the 43rd elected President.

Sure, I know, some Presidents took office after the death or resignation of a sitting President.  There was, however, at least some legitimate electoral process as the foundation for each of the previous Presidents coming to office.  Even Gerald Ford, who was appointed to be Vice President before replacing Nixon, was selected for the Vice Presidency by a President who had been mistakenly or foolishly elected by The People.

On the other hand, Duh-bya is nothing, just an imposter pretending to be President for a little while.  He will never be taken seriously as a legitimate President.
