The coronation of King George I is still ten days away, yet the monarchy has been embarrassed by yet another major scandal.

Duh-bya is now known in some liberal circles as King George because his rejection by the American people was over-ruled by Supreme Court justices who are members of the same political party as the new king. The King has had more pre-inaugural scandals than any American president-elect ever did, back when we had presidents instead of a king.
We know about the drunk driving arrests and convictions of both Bush and Cheney. On Labor Day, in Naperville, Illinois, we heard Duh-bya refer to a newspaper reporter by a name that is so vulgar and offensive that it cannot be used on a family web site like this one. We saw Duh-bya clean his glasses on the clothing of a producer on the David Letterman show, doing it behind her back and without her knowledge nor permission. We saw how they used mob rule to prevent legal votes from being counted in Florida.
Now, we see additional scandals with regards to King George's cabinet nominees. John Ashcroft has been nominated to be Attorney General, even though he strongly opposes a number of important laws that he would be in charge of enforcing. He could only be expected to undermine those laws, rather than vigorously upheld them. Gale Norton is the Interior Secretary nominee, even though she opposes important federal environmental laws.
The big cabinet scandal, so far, has been Linda Chavez. She was nominated to be Labor Secretary. She tried, but failed, to conceal a situation in her past where she had harbored an illegal alien, which is against federal law. Chavez also gave the fugitive money in exchange for doing domestic labor, such as cleaning and cooking, but Chavez did not withhold federal income taxes nor social security, as required by federal law. This is the woman who wanted to be Labor Secretary? If she had gotten the job, why would anyone who hires domestic help abide by those same tax laws? After all, the Labor Secretary blew off those laws and, rather than be penalized, was rewarded for her conduct with the job of enforcing the laws which she ignored, so why should anyone else feel it necessary to abide by those laws if the Labor Secretary didn't and nothing bad happened to her?
Scandal after scandal, and Duh-bya hasn't even been sworn in, yet. It's going to be an interesting four years.
